Project Graduation Minutes December 3, 2007

The meeting was called to order at 7:05 by Rhonda Merry. Minutes were read by Shannon Sansom.

All present stuffed envelopes to local businesses requesting donations to Project Graduation.

Rhonda Merry announced Panther Bucks amounts are being kept by Treasurer Jim Sansom. She emphasized the importance of signing in at each meeting in order to earn and have Panther Bucks recorded accurately.

Sign-in for events were passed around: Dodgeball Tournament concessions; Sonic; 50/50 Basketball games.

Treasurer Report:
Omni American Bank still had $1, 043.00 from previous years, which will be used as start-up funds.

Casino rentals:
Mike Dean looked into casino rental. One quote was $5,000, for 4 hours, which includes professional dealers. He is still waiting for a quote from another company. He will look into the cost if parents were to man the tables instead.

T-Shirt:
Donna and Kayla Caffee showed t-shirt designs. Several designs options were passed around to be voted upon.

Fund Raisers:
50/50 is in action at basketball games. Volunteers (adult) are needed for each basketball game.

Sonic has been scheduled for January 26.

Mr. Berglund: Dominoes coupon. With a flyer, $1.00 will be donated to Project Graduation. Mr. Berglund will pick a date in January for this campaign.

Another option was to buy peel-off coupons, which cost $1.00 each and are resold for $10.00.

Shannon Sansom has contacted Cici’s Pizza for a Project Graduation night. It was decided that we will ask for each first Tuesday of the month for FRHSPG night, and she will contact the manager again with that information.

Kayla Caffee, Alicia Eaton, and Twila Geisler will serve Chik-Fil-A biscuits on Mondays.

Marcie Cooper has contacted Aramark at the Fort Worth Convention Center concessions. She has not received any information yet.

Donna Caffee will look into Project Graduation candy wrappers, which will serve as fundraiser, and advertising.

Website:
Because of the costs involved in building a website, Gary Berglund has opened a blog instead. Shannon will email the minutes to him so he can put information there.

Dodgeball Tournament will be December 7 5:30-9:30. Volunteers are needed to sell concessions, Tshirts and tickets.

Rhonda will contact school administration about using the school building to host Project Graduation on June 7.

Vote was taken on Tshirt: “Cashed Out in 2008” will be the ticket shirt (picture of slot machine), and the fund raising shirt will be “That’s How We Roll” (picture of dice).

The meeting was adjourned at 8:10
